Meet the Maker: The Face Behind the Flames

Meet the Maker: The Face Behind the Flames

Hi, there! Nice to meet you, I'm Daisy. Here's to hoping that these blog posts are a good way to share more behind-the-scenes content, thoughts and lessons.
I started pouring candles in 2021 after my increased use of self-care products to help me process a very rough time in my life at the time. After noticing some adverse effects from burning my favorite candles (i.e. headaches, watery eyes, sniffles), my research started. At a time where burning candles during quiet moments before writing down my thoughts was one of the only rituals that helped ground me, these were not the effects I wanted. So, I ran straight to the internet to confirm that my candles were, in fact, causing these unwanted effects. Then, I went down the rabbit hole of how much everyday products we use in our home actually interfere with our endocrine system (I'll touch more in another blog post in the future).

I started by trying to make a few clean-burning candles I could use with my newly acquired knowledge on what ingredients to look for. I'd love to say that I've been a natural chandler since my first candle but there was a learning curve. After countless videos, tutorial blog posts, and 100+ candles (literally!), I began feeling more confident in my skills and eventually found my creative stamp on the candles you see now.

Fun Fact: my earlier candles did not look anything like what they look like now!

I made candles for myself and those around me. These same people provided the encouragement for me to start selling my handmade candles after using them. With a nervous but optimistic heart, I took the leap to make it a business in 2022 and Pstve Glo was born! I am still fine tuning my skills - the teacher in me holds on to the fact that there is always room for improvement.

However you ended up on my website, I'm grateful you're here. Welcome to P(o)S(i)T(i)VE GLO(w). Thanks for spending time here. Feel free to reach out or leave a comment! See you in the next blog post.
